Congratulations to the LMHS Class of 2022!

On Wednesday, June 8, Lower Merion High School held the 2022 Commencement Exercises in front of a sold-out crowd at Saint Joseph's University's Hagan Arena as 384 Aces walked across the stage to receive their diplomas!

Senior Class Officer Caroline Burchette provided opening remarks followed by interim Principal Dr. Jim Scanlon, who served as the Master of Ceremonies throughout the evening. Carina Hurok took the podium next to give the Senior Class Oration, preceding classmate Eric Yang, who provided the Salutatory Address.

School Board members Lucy Klain (President) and Melanie Schafmeister also took some time to share words with all those in attendance before Lower Merion's Student Council officers presented the Fritz Brennan Award to longtime Aces' educator Mark Piotrowski.

Kristi Hughes, wife of beloved former Aces' Principal Sean Hughes, who tragically passed away in the fall, was on hand to address the crowd and present the inaugural Sean Hughes "Character Counts" Award, which was given to senior Leo Solga.

The last student to take the podium during the Commencement Exercises was Isaac Mittman, who delivered the Valedictory Address, followed by the evening's final pair of speakers, Dr. Scanlon and Superintendent Dr. Khalid N. Mumin, before the diplomas were distributed and the Aces took part in the Tassel Ceremony.
