Bala Cynwyd Staff Member's Handiwork Helping with PPE Shortage

Over the past few weeks, Bala Cynwyd Middle School Instructional Assistant Liz Miller decided to use her talents as a certified art and family consumer sciences teacher to lend a hand during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Due to the dearth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Miller realized she could put her unique skill set to use making face masks for those-in-need.

Since embarking on this endeavor, Miller has made more than 150 face masks and the orders are continuing to roll since Governor Tom Wolf's recent mandate to wear the protective gear in public venues. Her masks have been shipped all across Pennsylvania and New Jersey and have even traveled as far as Kansas!

Miller, who sews in between virtual distance learning sessions with students and colleagues, has also earmarked all monetary contributions and donations she has received to help the Narberth Food Bank.
