Award-winning Children's author & illustrator Marla Frazee visits Gladwyne

Award-winning children's book author and illustrator Marla Frazee recently visited Gladwyne Elementary School to speak with students about her life and work as a writer, the creative process and more during a fun-filled and educational assembly.

Throughout the program, Frazee spoke about her path to becoming an author and illustrator, which began early on in life when she "published" her first book as a young child through a program at her elementary school library. She then discussed how she comes up with her ideas and brings them to life on the page before going through the storylines of some of her many popular books. Prior to the end of the assembly, students also had the opportunity to participate in a Q & A session with the author.

Frazee was awarded a Caldecott Honor for All the World and A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever and the Boston Globe Horn Book Award for Picture Book for The Farmer and the Clown. She is the author-illustrator of Roller Coaster, Walk On!, Santa Claus the World's Number One Toy Expert, The Boss Baby and Boot & Shoe, as well as the illustrator of many other books including The Seven Silly Eaters, Stars, the NYT bestselling Clementine series, God Got a Dog and Hillary Clinton's recent book It Takes a Village.
