The Welsh Valley Middle School Art Department recently hosted the Opening Reception for the "Art Gives You Wings" Art Show featuring hundreds of pieces of student-created artwork throughout the classrooms, hallways and library.

The event - sponsored by the Welsh Valley Art Club and teachers Jacqueline Cassidy and Jordan Robinson - highlighted the work of students in grades 6-8 across a variety of mediums, and included an assortment of art-related activities for guests, a photo booth and the installation of 1,000 origami paper cranes. There were also special musical performances by Welsh Valley's Advanced Choir; the acapella group, Fire Chords; the Lab Jazz Band; and 8th Grade String Ensemble.
