Oh Là Là! Welsh Valley Hosts French Festival

Welsh Valley Middle School recently hosted its annual French Festival, transforming the gymnasium into a lively French marketplace filled with language, culture and creativity.

Students explored a variety of French-themed shops and stations, including a bookstore (la librairie), stationery shop (la papeterie), cheese shop (la fromagerie), bakery (la boulangerie), pastry shop (la pâtisserie), café (le café), sporting goods store (le magasin de sport) and jewelry boutique (la bijouterie). As they made their way through the marketplace, students had the opportunity to practice French vocabulary and conversational skills while “purchasing” different goods and services.

The festive scene was enhanced by French decorations, Eiffel Tower imagery, sculptures, baguettes, berets, café-style touches and even classic French waiter details, helping bring the experience to life for students. Bravo to Welsh Valley’s French students and teachers for creating such a fun and memorable celebration of French language and culture!
