Penn Valley Raises $15k for 'Take A Breather' Foundation

Penn Valley Elementary School students recently stepped out of the classroom and into the sunshine for the school’s second annual Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-thon in support of the Take A Breather Foundation.

Held June 1-5, the walk-a-thon gave students and staff the opportunity to stretch their legs while raising funds and awareness for an important cause. The Panthers walked in support of individuals living with cystic fibrosis and helped make meaningful “Breathers” possible for children and adults in the community. Altogether, Penn Valley raised an incredible $15,048 through the event.

These “Breathers” provide opportunities for critical moments of rest, joy and connection for individuals and families living with cystic fibrosis. Through thoughtfully designed experiences, the foundation offers time away from daily treatments and routines to simply breathe, explore and be together.

Penn Valley’s efforts were recently highlighted in the Take A Breather Foundation’s Summer Newsletter, which recognized the school community for its incredible kindness and dedication to making a difference.

Founded in 2012 as a 501(c)(3) organization, the Take A Breather Foundation grew out of the Narberth CF Run, which began fulfilling wishes for children in 1996. Its mission is to give “CF Warriors” and their families the chance to take a break from the challenges of cystic fibrosis and focus on creating memories that will last a lifetime.
