Schedule for LMSD Summer 2023 Programs

Dear LMSD Families,

Although winter break is still a few weeks away, LMSD staff and administrators are already planning for our District's summer programs. We know you may be looking ahead to summer as well, and we wanted to let you know that this summer's programs will be operating on a different schedule than past years.

For the summer of 2023,
classes will be held
Monday through Thursday.

No classes will be held on Fridays.

This will be the schedule for the programs listed below, which will run from June 26, 2023, through August 4, 2023. All schools and offices are closed on July 4, 2023.

  • ELD Academy (all grades)*
  • Extended School Year (ESY) (all grades)*
  • SPIES (elementary)*
  • YES Academy (middle)*
  • Summer School (high school)

Programs marked with an asterisk (*) are by invitation only. Additional programs, such as STEM programs, Math Bridge, Write-In, etc. will be held on a Monday to Thursday schedule during different weeks in the summer. No classes will be held on Fridays. Additional details about these program schedules, locations and who will be invited to participate will be shared later in the school year.

Right At School Camp will be providing full-day and half-day (after SPIES) options Monday through Friday, along with full-day and drop-in options for families of k-5 students who need childcare on Fridays, when SPIES, ESY and ELD Academy are not in session. Additional information will be shared on the Right At School website later in the school year. LMSD will not be providing student transportation on Fridays.

This change in schedule will enable the District to respond to a variety of staffing and operational challenges that occur during the summer months. The hours will be expanded on the four days classes are in session to ensure that students will receive the same number of instructional hours as they have in the past. It is my hope that letting you know about this change now helps you plan for the summer of 2023.
