LMHS Soccer Standout Sam Nyenka earns All-American Accolades

The United Soccer Coaches Association recently announced that Lower Merion High School's Sam Nyenka has been named to the High School Boys All-American Team for the 2022 fall season. He is one of only 143 players (81 boys, 62 girls) throughout the country to receive All-American honors.

Nyenka's fantastic fall campaign helped lead Lower Merion to one of the best seasons in school history. The Aces compiled a 23-2 record - a new program-best for victories in a season - and went on to win the Central Athletic League and District One championships before advancing all the way to the PIAA Quad-A state title game. This was Lower Merion's first appearance in the state finals in thirty-four years.

Nyenka, who will play for the West Virginia Mountaineers next year, was also selected as the Most Valuable Player in the Central Athletic League, which is perennially one of the most talent-rich leagues in Pennsylvania.

Players on this year's United Soccer Coaches High School All-America Teams will be recognized for their accomplishments at the All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention. Congratulations, Sam!
