LMHS Class of 1979 Creates Scholarship

When the Lower Merion High School Class of 1979 gathered in Manayunk for their 40th reunion, they did more than catch up with old friends. They ensured that future grads would receive financial help in furthering their educations.

Class members donated more than $12,000 to create the LMHS Class of 1979 Scholarship for the Lower Merion Township Scholarship Fund.

The Scholarship Fund is a community effort to provide need-based scholarships to assist graduates of Lower Merion School District's public high schools to pursue higher education. The Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization that draws support from the schools, alumni, school families, community businesses, and neighbors.
