LMHS Students Shine at International DECA Conference

Lower Merion High School's DECA chapter made history this spring at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC).

The prestigious business competition in late April brought together more than 20,000 high school students from around the world.

Five Lower Merion students represented the school and Pennsylvania. The students qualified by finishing in the top three in the state championship.

Representing LMHS were:

  • Ella Chen & Abby McGrew (Entrepreneurship Team Decision Making)
  • Camille Cohen & Sasha Smith (Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making)
  • Max Hansberry (Financial Consulting)

Chen and McGrew earned fourth place overall in their event, competing against 2,500 other students. They are the first team from LMHS to place in an international Top Ten.

DECA advisor LMHS teacher Mark Levy said, "We are incredibly proud of all five students for their hard work, dedication and the professionalism they demonstrated throughout the competition."
