Congratulations to Lower Merion High School's Girls' Ultimate Frisbee Team. The Aces won the State Championship by a decisive 15-1 score over Strath Haven during the Memorial Day Weekend competition, after a victory over Pennsbury in the semifinals.
This was Lower Merion's first championship since 2017, after losing in their three prior finals appearances. In all, the Aces have been State Champs seven times, after taking home titles in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017.
The big win was truly a team effort, as all 19 players caught or threw at least one goal over the weekend of competition. Standouts included senior captain Myra Woerdeman, who threw 16 goals and caught another eight of her own; Sam Merritt, who led the team with 18 goals thrown; and Ava Terosky, who led the team with 15 goals caught.
