Lower Merion High School's Arnold Field recently played host to a Unified Sports Interscholastic Track & Field Meet as the Aces welcomed athletes from Abington and Wissahickon high schools for an afternoon of competition and fun!
Interscholastic Unified Sports provides opportunities for students with and without disabilities to participate in sports in a meaningful way and also helps to promote inclusion, acceptance and respect by engaging other students from the school community. Unified sports are an example of how LMSD is working to build a sense of belonging for all students. #LMSDBuildingBelonging
During the meet, each participant had the opportunity to compete in a field event, a running event and a relay race. The student-athletes had a great time as they ran, jump and threw their way through events like the 100 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 4x400 meter relay, 4x100 meter relay, shot put, long jump and mini-javelin!
