Harriton Student Places Second in National Music Competition

Congratulations to violinist Noelle Streuber-Eden, an 11th grader in Harriton High School's International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, who placed second in the 2026 OPUS National Music Competition, an invitation-only contest that brings together the top young instrumentalists from across the United States.

She earned a spot at the national competition after winning the Pennsylvania OPUS competition in December.

Streuber-Eden played Erich Wolfgang Korngold's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35. The same piece won her the first-ever Platinum Award for an exceptional violinist from the German Society of Pennsylvania.

The piece demands a soloist who can sustain long, soaring melodic lines with both technical mastery and a genuine feeling for the work's opulent sound.

First place was awarded to cellist Justin Kang of Arizona. Streuber-Eden shared second place with violinist Jayden Yoneyama, also of Arizona.
