Dr. Ranelli to Recommend Mr. Will Williams for Assistant Principal at Harriton

Superintendent Dr. Ranelli shared the information below
with the Harriton High School Community Friday afternoon, May 1, 2026.

Dear Harriton High School Community,

I wanted to share information with you about changes within the administrative leadership team for Harriton High School.

At the May meeting of the Lower Merion Board of School Directors, I will be recommending Will Williams for the role of Assistant Principal at Harriton.

Pending Board approval, this will be a Harriton homecoming for Mr. Williams, who served as Harriton’s acting assistant principal during the 2022-2023 school year and taught English there for 18 years.

He’s currently the school culture coordinator at Black Rock Middle School, so he will know many of next year’s incoming ninth graders. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Williams will be coordinating the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, with which he is familiar from his teaching years.

Mr. Williams received his master’s in educational leadership from Widener University after earning his bachelor’s in English education and a graduate certificate in educational technology from West Chester University.

In addition to the anticipated upcoming appointment of Mr. Williams, I wanted to let you know that in April, the Board has approved Emily Wesley’s transition to permanent Assistant Principal from her current role as Acting Assistant Principal. Ms. Wesley has been a Harriton staff member since 2020, serving as a learning support teacher and then as special education department chair before taking on Assistant Principal duties this year.

I’ve already had the opportunity to work with both Mr. Williams and Ms. Wesley, and I am confident that the leadership team of Mr. Warshawer, Mrs. Marcuson, Mr. Snyder, Ms. Wesley and Mr. Williams will serve Harriton’s students and families with excellence.

Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Ranelli
Superintendent
