A Couple Songs for Summer from Harriton's Choral Ensembles

Looking for some easy listening on a hot summer day? Harriton High School’s talented vocalists have you covered!

The Harriton Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Choral Music Director Jason Bizich, recently shared a pair of standout performances from their spring concert series showcasing the strength and versatility of the school’s choral program.

In the first video, the Rams perform Moses Hogan’s electrifying arrangement of “Elijah Rock,” a powerful African American spiritual and beloved piece in the choral repertoire. Hogan, who is celebrated worldwide for his transformative arrangements of spirituals, created this stirring version of “Elijah Rock” in 1994.

Harriton’s choral program includes 140 students across five ensembles, including Pitch Please, a student-led a cappella group; Vocal Ensemble; Concert Choir; Freshman Chorale; and Choral Union. Last year, the Concert Choir made its debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City and performed at Manhattan’s historic Church of the Holy Trinity.
