Gladwyne Students Celebrate Lunar New Year!

In preparation for the Lunar New Year, which begins on Sunday, January 22, students in Mrs. Reilly’s fourth grade class at Gladwyne Elementary School recently learned all about the customs and traditions that are a part of this wonderful holiday!

Students learned about the significance of the colors and symbols associated with the Lunar New Year, including the fact that 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, before fourth-grader Yangming Yue led a special arts & crafts activity where he guided his classmates through the process of making rabbit lanterns. Students also read “Nian, The Chinese New Year Dragon” and discussed Chinese New Year traditions!
