Welsh Valley Music Department SHINES at High Note Music Festival

Last month, the Welsh Valley Middle School Music Department proudly represented their school at the High Note Music Festival in Allentown, where every ensemble earned a SUPERIOR rating—an incredible accomplishment!

Adjudicators evaluated each group using a comprehensive performance rubric that assessed tone, intonation, technique, interpretation and repertoire difficulty. Students and directors also received real-time recorded feedback, offering a valuable opportunity for post-performance reflection and growth.

Participating ensembles included the Select Choir, Chamber Orchestra, and the 7th and 8th Grade Concert Bands. Congratulations to the students and their dedicated music teachers: Mary Callaghan, Taylor Lam, Marybeth McCarrick, Al Homicz and Carmen Vieytez!

After their stellar performances, students capped off the day with a well-earned celebration at Dorney Park!
