Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year in LMSD

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year in LMSD

Dear LMSD Families,

As we welcome the beginning of a new school year, I am filled with a deep sense of hope and purpose. The start of each academic year is always a time of renewal, filled with new friendships, new learning and new dreams. As students return to our classrooms on September 2, 2025, they do so in a world that has seen too much division, too many hateful acts and far too many reminders of the necessary work ahead.

As superintendent, I see our schools as more than just places of learning. They are the heart of our community and should be sanctuaries where we all work together to foster belonging, understanding and resilience.

I hope that all of you will join our staff and administration as we commit ourselves to building and nurturing a culture of kindness and empathy, not just in our schools but also throughout our community, so that every student feels safe and seen.

In the coming days, please remember to visit the PowerSchool Parent Portal to ensure that your contact information is up to date. Class and transportation assignments will be posted in the Portal after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Also, please review the important Annual Notifications for parents and guardians on our website www.lmsd.org. Any family that would like paper copies of school and/or District communications can request them through the main office at their child’s school. Finally, take time with your student(s) to review the Family and Student Handbook found on each school’s website, so that we can begin building a positive school culture for all on Day One.

I know I speak for all our LMSD educators and support staff when I say we are looking forward to seeing students back in our buildings beginning September 2nd.

Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Ranelli
Superintendent
