Tax Rebate Information for Qualified Residents (2026)

The Lower Merion Board of School Directors has approved a program under which qualified senior citizens who live in Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough can apply for a partial rebate of the amount they are paying for Lower Merion School District property taxes.

Applicants for this rebate must FIRST meet the qualifications set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's PA-1000 Property/Tax Rent Rebate Program and complete the filing process for that rebate.

Once that payment from the Commonwealth is received, then you can complete the steps below.

To get the LMSD rebate, qualified individuals need to complete the application form completely and mail it with supporting documentation to:

Application Requirements

To receive a rebate for taxes filed in 2026 for the 2025 tax year:

  • The application must be submitted between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.
  • The completed form must include:
    • A copy of PA-1000 2025 (Pages 1 and 2 of the Property Tax or Rent Rebate Claim) filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue; and
    • Acceptable proof of payment for Part D, line (b), which may include one of the following:
      • A copy of the 2025 PA-1000 rebate check received on or after July 1, 2026, OR
      • A statement of direct deposit from the State received on or after July 1, 2026, OR
      • A printout of the 2025 claim status report from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue website. Under "Rebates," select "Where's My Rebate?"

Additional Information

  • Once a completed application is received by LMSD, rebate checks are typically issued within approximately 30 days.
  • You do not need to attach a copy of your tax bill.
  • If you need a copy of Form PA-1000, please contact your State Representative. To find your representative, use the state's "Find My Legislator" tool
