LMSD is Switching from Zoom to Teams

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we wanted to let you know that LMSD is making the switch from Zoom to Microsoft Teams for most virtual meetings and video conferences. (School Board and Committee meetings will remain on Zoom).

The District is making this switch because Teams is integrated with Outlook and is included in our existing Microsoft subscription. This will save money that has been spent in the past on multiple Zoom licenses.

During the upcoming year, instead of getting Zoom links from a school or department, you will receive a Teams link. Just as with Zoom, you will be able to access Teams links using your browser, or you can choose to download the Teams app from the App Store or Google Play and use that.

The main differences you may notice will be different locations for the buttons you click for some functions, such as blurring your background, muting your microphone or sharing your screen.

LMSD has provided useful information about how to use Teams on our website. During the school year, teachers will work with students in grades 5-12 to familiarize them with Teams prior to any anticipated Flexible Instruction (Virtual) Days.

Thank you in advance for your patience and willingness as we learn together about Teams during the 2026-2027 school year.
