LMSD Changes Email Access for Students in Grades 3 and 4

LMSD Changes Email Access for Students in Grades 3 and 4

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Superintendent Dr. Frank Ranelli shared the letter below with parents and guardians of elementary students:

Dear Elementary Parents and Guardians,

I’m writing to let you know about a change LMSD is making in email access for some of our elementary school students.

Until now, students in kindergarten through second grade have been able to use their student email accounts only to contact their teachers, while students in grades three and four have been able to email both teachers and other students.

After reviewing the educational value associated with the student-to-student email permissions, LMSD has decided to standardize email access for all K–4 students, so that all elementary students will only be able to email their teachers.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Ranelli
Superintendent
