Holocaust Survivor Ronnie Breslow Shares Powerful Testimony at Harriton & LM

Students at Harriton and Lower Merion high schools recently had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand from Holocaust survivor Ronnie Breslow, who visited the schools to share her powerful story of survival, resilience and hope.

During her visit, Breslow recounted her experiences growing up during one of the darkest periods in human history. She described the devastating toll Nazi persecution took on her family and the unimaginable hardships she faced. Her unforgettable testimony provided students with a personal perspective on the Holocaust, reinforcing the importance of remembrance, compassion, and standing against hatred and intolerance.

Throughout her presentation, Breslow emphasized not only the horrors she witnessed but also the strength of the human spirit and the courage that allowed her to persevere. She encouraged students to reflect on the importance of empathy, unity and the responsibility to ensure that history’s darkest chapters are never repeated.

Following her presentation, students had the opportunity to ask questions, engaging in thoughtful dialogue about the lasting impact of the Holocaust and what lessons today’s generation can take from it. The visit was part of a broader effort at both schools to promote education, awareness and meaningful conversations about history, social justice, inclusivity and the power of resilience.

As generations grow further removed from the Holocaust, hearing directly from survivors like Ronnie Breslow offers a powerful reminder that these stories must be preserved — and their lessons carried forward.
