Harriton and Lower Merion high schools recently hosted their respective “Career Symposium” events - annual programs providing students with an opportunity to hear from professionals representing a wide array of industries and occupations. Many of the speakers who generously volunteered time out of their busy schedules to be part of the event were parents of LMSD students or community members.
Through their participation in the career symposiums, the Aces and Rams were able to learn about educational requirements, day-to-day life, tricks of the trade and so much more regarding the following occupations: analytical chemist, OB-GYN, financial advisor, book editor, acupuncturist, emergency room physician, registered dietician, defense attorney, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, television news reporter, management consultant, police officer, emergency medical technician, pediatrician, licensed social worker, software engineer, commercial real estate manager, oncologist, licensed midwife, medical researcher, firefighter, biotech engineer, non-profit director, judge, case manager, creative director and bookstore owner, among many others!
