Harriton Robotics Competes at VEX World Championships

A pair of teams representing the Harriton High School robotics program recently had the honor of competing at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championships, held May 6–14 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. This prestigious event, recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest robotics competition in the world, brought together over 2,400 teams from more than 60 countries. With only the top 9% of the 9,500 teams worldwide qualifying for “Worlds,” Harriton’s qualification was a remarkable achievement in itself.

Students competed in a variety of challenges that tested their engineering, programming and teamwork skills as part of the VEX V5 Robotics Competition. The event was not only a celebration of STEM excellence but also an opportunity for students to collaborate, problem-solve and represent their schools on a global stage.

  • Team 197B: Guido Cassani, Andrew Majer, Eric Cheung, Lyon Cun & Gabby Menta
    • Finished 40th out of 83 teams in their division with a 4-5-1 record during the qualifying rounds. Despite a strong showing, their record wasn’t quite enough to advance to the division tournament.
  • Team 197E: Prabhas Banerjee, Navin Jayanthi, Dilan Chawla, Leo Speer-Zisook, Daniel Ash, Luca Fiore & Ethan Kim
    • Finished 18th out of 83 teams in their division with a 6-4 qualifying record. The team advanced to the division tournament and partnered with a team from Tempe, Arizona, but unfortunately lost in the first round of the playoffs.

Both teams represented Harriton and the LMSD community with pride, integrity and determination. Their participation at the World Championship reflects the strength of Harriton’s STEM programs and the incredible commitment of its students and mentors!
