Congratulations to the LMHS Class of 2025!

Lower Merion High School held its 2025 Commencement Exercises at Villanova University’s Finneran Pavilion, where 459 seniors proudly received their diplomas and marked the culmination of their high school journey!

Senior Class Officer Keira Gibbons opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks, followed by Student Council members Hannah Cohen and Emma Maloney, who served as Masters of Ceremonies. Amelia Peck delivered the Senior Class Oration, and the Class Officers presented the traditional Class Gift.

A highlight of the program was the presentation of the Fritz Brennan Award, given by Student Council members Harper Morse and Dylan Silberman to beloved teacher Sania Mirzanschall, who was selected for the honor by the students. Next, in a moving tribute, 13-year-old Katherine Hughes presented the Sean Hughes “Character Counts” Award in memory of her father, the late Principal Sean Hughes, whose legacy continues to inspire the LMHS community. This year’s recipient was senior Kami Wendelken, who demonstrated the principles of strong character and leadership throughout the school year.

Remarks were then shared by School Board President Dr. Kerry Sautner, Student Council Officer Emma Maloney, Principal Dr. Michael Johnson and Superintendent Dr. Frank Ranelli. Dr. Ranelli also invited senior Anthony Labbad to express appreciation to the parents and guardians who supported the graduates throughout their academic journey.

The program concluded with the awarding of diplomas by members of the Lower Merion Board of School Directors and the tassel ceremony. As the final caps flew into the air, the Class of 2025 celebrated both the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next.
