Celebrating School Library Month in LMSD

April is School Library Month, a time to recognize the vital role school libraries play in supporting student learning, fostering a love of reading and helping students develop the research, media literacy and critical thinking skills they need to succeed.

Across LMSD, our school librarians, media specialists and library aides are at the heart of that work. They do so much more than manage bookshelves. They create welcoming, inclusive spaces where students can explore new ideas, collaborate, think creatively and grow as learners. From guiding research and curating resources to partnering with teachers and supporting innovative, hands-on projects, their impact is felt in every classroom and at every grade level. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, expertise and the care they show our students each and every day.

There is always something exciting happening in LMSD libraries, from engaging lessons and creative projects to special events and collaborative programming that bring learning to life. Be sure to check out the links below to see just a fraction of all of the amazing things happening in our school libraries throughout the year!
