Black Rock & Gladwyne Get Creative in Cross-Campus Collaboration

Black Rock & Gladwyne Get Creative in Cross-Campus Collaboration

First graders at Gladwyne and eighth graders at Black Rock recently joined forces for a heartwarming art project celebrating imagination, creativity and connection.

The collaboration began with Ms. Martin’s first graders, who let their imaginations run wild as they drew original monsters and creatures. Inspired by the illustrations, Ms. Fazzini’s eighth grade art students then took on the challenge of sculpting each design out of clay — transforming the younger students’ ideas into playful, three-dimensional creations.

Before the school year ended, the completed sculptures made their way back to the first graders, who were delighted to see their imaginative designs brought to life in clay.

This cross-grade, intra-district project fostered a strong sense of belonging by bridging age groups, celebrating each student’s creativity, and reinforcing a simple but powerful message: every voice, every vision, and every student matters.
