Author Gordon Korman Visits BC & Black Rock

Bala Cynwyd Middle School recently welcomed author Gordon Korman, who shared insights from his illustrious career with students.

Korman began his presentation by recounting the story of his first novel, which he wrote at the age of twelve—making him about the same age as many in his audience. His key message: you’re never too young to start writing! He also walked students through his entire creative and writing process, covering research, brainstorming, character development, dialogue, rewriting, revision and—his personal favorite—humor.

Over the course of his prolific career, Korman has authored over 100 books for kids and teens, which have been translated into 32 languages and sold more than 35 million copies worldwide. To see a collection of images from his visit, click through the slideshow below!
