Aces & Rams Earn Top Honors at Montgomery County Reading Olympics

Students from Lower Merion and Harriton high schools recently showcased their literary knowledge, teamwork and love of reading at the Montgomery County Reading Olympics, earning top honors in the countywide competition.

Organized by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU), the Montgomery County Reading Olympics brings students together to celebrate reading, collaboration and a shared passion for books. At the high school level, students form teams and spend the school year reading a curated selection of titles spanning a variety of genres.

The program culminates in a competition each March, where teams work together to answer questions about the books they have read. Designed as a celebration of reading and learning, the Reading Olympics encourages students to explore new genres, strengthen critical reading skills and connect with peers who share a passion for literature.

This year, Lower Merion’s Smart Cookies and Harriton’s Reading Rams both earned blue ribbons, the highest distinction awarded in the competition, in recognition of their outstanding literary efforts.

Congratulations to all of the participating readers on this impressive accomplishment and for representing both schools so well!
