After putting together one of the best seasons in the Lower Merion High School basketball program’s storied history, it was only fitting to send this year’s iteration of the Aces off in style, which the community recently did during a special celebration at Narberth Park.
Friends, family and community members convened on the Narberth basketball courts to commemorate a historic winter in which the Aces compiled a remarkable list of accomplishments.
Lower Merion, which led the state in scoring, went undefeated (18-0) in Central Athletic League (CAL) contests, en route to winning yet another CAL crown. The maroon-and-white then went on to take the District One title – the team’s third in the last four years – with a big win over league rival Garnet Valley at Temple’s Liacouras Center. And the Aces' near impeccable 28-2 record included a 19-game win streak as well as an undefeated at-home record, which certainly gave the Lower Merion student section something to smile about.
