Belmont Hills 'Best Buddies' Celebrate a Year of Friendship and Inclusion

Belmont Hills Elementary School’s Best Buddies club wrapped up the school year with a joyful celebration of friendship, inclusion and belonging before heading off for summer vacation.

Students marked the occasion by signing an “Inclusion Matters” banner, receiving certificates from Best Buddies Pennsylvania and celebrating the connections they built throughout the year. The end-of-year gathering served as a reminder of the club’s important mission: helping students create meaningful friendships while fostering a school community rooted in kindness and empathy.

Each student also received a colorful T-shirt featuring words such as Respect, Kindness, Diversity, Empathy, Potential and Inclusion Matters in bright, playful fonts. Students enjoyed making friendship bracelets, creating colorful sidewalk chalk artwork and simply spending time together in celebration of another meaningful year.

Through Best Buddies’ school-based friendship programs, students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities come together for inclusive activities that promote acceptance, interaction and a sense of belonging for all. You can learn more about Best Buddies here.
