Superintendent Dr. Frank Ranelli shared the letter below with the Bala Cynwyd Middle School community, announcing his recommendation that Nicole Wake become an acting assistant principal of BCMS.
Dear BCMS Community,
I’m pleased to share that at the June 16, 2025, meeting of the Lower Merion Board of School Directors, I will be recommending Nicole Wake to become Acting Assistant Principal for Bala Cynwyd Middle School.
Ms. Wake has been a BCMS staff member since 2017, first as a special education teacher and then as a coordinator of student interventions, a role she has held since 2022. During that time, she managed achievement teams, collecting and analyzing data to design intervention plans for students in collaboration with administrators, classroom teachers and specialists.
In accepting the Acting Assistant Principal position, Ms. Wake said, “I look forward to continuing to advocate for students’ needs, while fostering a collaborative environment among students, staff and families to promote academic success and social growth for all students.”
Prior to joining LMSD, Ms. Wake taught and held a variety of leadership positions in the Spring-Ford, Governor Mifflin/Wilson and Antietam school districts. She received her bachelor’s degree in special and elementary education from Kutztown University and her master’s degree in education leadership and her principal certification from Alvernia University.
Pending approval by the Board, I know that both Ms. Koo and I look forward to working with Ms. Wake in her new role.
Sincerely,
Dr. Frank Ranelli
Superintendent
