BCMS Welcomes Best-Selling Author Lauren Magaziner

Bala Cynwyd Middle School recently welcomed internationally best-selling children’s author Lauren Magaziner for an engaging visit centered on reading, writing and the power of storytelling.

During her time at BCMS, Magaziner spoke with students about her journey as an author and shared insights into the writing process, from developing ideas to revising a finished draft. Her interactive presentation encouraged students to think creatively, embrace the writing process and build confidence in their own voices.

Magaziner is the author of The Incorruptibles series, the Case Closed series, The Mythics series and several stand-alone novels for middle-grade readers. Her books have been published in 12 languages and have earned wide recognition, including Junior Library Guild selections, Indie Next List honors, starred reviews and more.

A Pennsylvania native who now lives in Philadelphia, Magaziner has been visiting schools since 2014, inspiring students through dynamic presentations that blend storytelling, creativity and practical writing advice. With a background in both creative writing and educational publishing, she brings a unique perspective to her work with young readers and writers.
