Advanced Choir Celebrates BCMS Assistant Principals with Heartfelt Serenade

Before heading off for summer break, Bala Cynwyd Middle School’s Advanced Choir honored Assistant Principals Nikki Wake and Dave Clark with a surprise performance of the hit song “For Good” from the musical Wicked.

The fresh, playful and heartfelt rendition celebrated the many ways Ms. Wake and Mr. Clark help shape BCMS culture each day. Through their visible leadership, care and commitment to students, they model the schoolwide expectations to Be Safe, Be Responsible and Be Respectful — the “3 Bs.”

The reworked lyrics included lighthearted references to Ms. Wake’s empathy and impeccable fashion sense, as well as Mr. Clark’s big voice and even bigger heart. The emotional performance brought plenty of smiles and tears from those in attendance.

Special thanks to musical director Anne Sterner-Porreca, who rewrote the lyrics, designed crowns and sashes for the occasion and created keepsake lyric books.

The joyful surprise recognized Ms. Wake and Mr. Clark’s time, care and deep investment in student development, as well as the many ways they help students feel valued, supported and connected to their school community. Through all they do, Ms. Wake and Mr. Clark have truly changed the BCMS community for good.
