This is an AppleWorks template with embedded links to websites where students can find the information to be gathered. Students learn about weather and weather patterns found in various states and regions of the United States.
After learning to use an internet weather website to gather and record data for different regions, several students are designated as the weather reporters for the week. Each morning for that week, during morning centers time, each person on the team gathers and records the weather data for the area and for Paris, France. The student in the group designated as "Weather Person of the Day" then compares his/her data to that gathered by the others to assure accuracy. Finally, he/she enters the data into a spreadsheet form which tallies and graphs the weather information over time. Each week the group changes until all students have had a turn.
