Paleontologists

Paleontologists are scientists who study the things that lived long before any people existed. They do this by examining fossils which are the remains of animals and plants that lived long ago. They look for these fossils buried in the earth. By looking at the fossils and the layers of earth that they are buried in, paleontologists can learn about plants and animals that lived and became extinct before any people lived.

Since dinosaurs were all extinct before there were people, we have no other way to know about them except from the fossils they left behind.
