Frequently Asked Questions

Complete the registration form on the S.P.I.E.S. website.
Our family is going away on vacation. Can my child still participate in S.P.I.E.S.?
Yes, your child can participate in S.P.I.E.S. if you are going away during the program. Of course, we like to have your child with us every day, however, we do understand that this is summer and prior plans may cause a student to be on vacation during the S.P.I.E.S. program. However, there is no pro-rated tuition.
Does S.P.I.E.S. provide lunch for the students?
No. S.P.I.E.S. does not provide lunch for children. Students pack a lunch every day of the program.
Will my child need to complete homework assignments?
On some occasions, you child may have a homework assignment, but it will be active and fun. We do not assign homework on a regular basis during S.P.I.E.S.
How do I arrange transportation to and from Belmont Hills Elementary School?
Transportation is provided by the Lower Merion School District Transportation Department. Parents are sent a letter with the bus assignment and bus stop the week before the program. In order to develop the bus runs, it is critical that we have all registrations in before May 31st. Children who are registered later than the deadline may have to wait until the end of the first week of the program to be placed on a bus run.
Are there any extra costs for things such as supplies or trips?
There are no extra costs associated with the S.P.I.E.S. program. All supplies and trip costs are provided by the district.
