Creating A Daily Edit
Here's a way to use your data projector in a creative fashion. Project onto a whiteboard. Pull up a WORD document that you previously set up ahead of time for your class. Allow your students to come up and draw, circle, and modify your sentences. What is nice about this trick is that you can prepare your edits, use them as handouts and have the luxury of editing them without having to erase the original work. Keep them year after year! Try this in a math class!
Make a PDF on a MAC
A PDF is a Read only file. These are great when you post things on your eboard, web page or even send through email, and you wouldn't want someone to change the content. Turn just about any file that you are working on into a PDF! For example, if your in a WORD document, simply go to File > Print. Don't actually print the document, but you'll notice a SAVE AS PDF button. Click on it and save it to your computer. You can make a PDF in other apps such as Excel, Powerpoint, Appleworks, Inspiration etc. If you can print it, you should be able to PDF it! Good luck!
Zoom In and Out On your Mac
Hard to see what's on your screen? Follow this: Blue Apple > System Preferences > Universal Access > Turn Zoom ON Now hold down these keys (Apple + option) and tap on the "+" key to zoom in "-" key to zoom out. Your mouse will always be the center on your screen, so use your mouse to point to a specific location.
Email Tip: Completing the Subject Line
When creating a NEW email, always write something in the subject line. Many like to keep their inbox organized, and it’s difficult to sort through email when there is no subject. This is how emails get lost.
