Important FluMist update regarding seasonal (not H1N1) flu vaccine

On Friday, 10/9 the LMSD health services team was contacted by Maxim Health and informed that the District's expected shipment of FluMist has not arrived and that Maxim Health will need to postpone area FluMist vaccination programs for seasonal flu. All FluMist clinics, including administration of FluMist at Penn Wynne Elementary School (October 12), Bala Cynwyd Middle School (October 13) and Gladwyne Elementary School (October 16) have been postponed due to a shortage of seasonal FluMist. There have been delays in shipments from manufacturers of FluMist to providers throughout the area as manufacturers have shifted their efforts to the production of H1N1 vaccine. 

The District will contact parents/guardians of students who have pre-registered to notify them of the postponement. If the FluMist program can be rescheduled, we will share the information with parents immediately, however since there is no projected date when the program will resume, the District will return any checks received to parents/guardians.
