Faculty Art Exhibition

LMSD Administration Building
The event highlights the work of LMSD's talented art faculty and serves as the official opening of the District's newly-renovated administration building. The building, an historic landmark noted for its classic art deco design, will be transformed into a gallery featuring selections of original work from art teachers of all levels. Blake Bradford, a 1988 graduate of Harriton High School and current Director of Education at The Barnes Foundation will serve as show curator and special guest speaker.
The History of Public Education in Lower Merion

Lower Merion High School
In 1834, after "a meeting of men" at General Wayne Inn, Lower Merion became one of the first communities in the commonwealth to establish a system of "free, common" public schools. LMSD's social studies staff and special guests will explore the rich history of public education in our community -- from the one room school house to learning environments in the 21st century. The event also marks the 100th anniversary of Lower Merion High School on Montgomery Avenue.
