Registration Procedures

Welcome to Lower Merion School District!

All registrations for grades K-12 take place at the Central Registration Office located at 65 Rock Hill Road in Bala Cynwyd and are by appointment only by calling 610-658-3996.

The first day of school for students is Tuesday September 7, 2010.

The required registration documents can be downloaded from our website. Please click here or on the link "Registration Forms" located on the left. Once all the necessary information on the forms is completed, please call the Central Registration Office to schedule an appointment.

When a student of school age is presented to Lower Merion School District for enrollment, the Lower Merion School District will require documentation at the registration appointment before enrolling the student and permitting him/her to attend school.

In addition to the completed registration packet, we require the following at the time of registration:

  1. PROOF OF THE STUDENT'S AGE: Birth Certificate, Passport, or Baptismal Certificate
  2. TWO (2) PROOFS OF RESIDENCY: LMSD must be certain that the parent/guardian's residence, with which the child lives, is located in Lower Merion Township or the Borough of Narberth. Any two of the following documents will verify your LMSD residency:
    1. A copy of the Deed, Real Estate Tax Bill, or Sewer Rental Bill
    2. A copy of the fully executed Lease
    3. A current utility bill (gas, electric, oil, water, phone, or cable)
  3. EVIDENCE OF IMMUNIZATION

The Central Registration Office is open all school year and during the summer to register students beginning school for the first time, and students transferring from outside schools.
To be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2010.

For children who will be entering an LMSD school for the first time in the fall of 2010 as a first grader, the child must be 6 years of age on or before September 1, 2010.
