Lower Merion High School recently hosted the 9th Grade Orientation – a comprehensive program where students met LMHS faculty and staff, received their course schedules and advisory assignments, and toured the campus. Students actually attended five of their classes and had the opportunity to socialize with classmates during advisory activities. The intent of this program is to help support students' transition and make the first day of high school as comfortable as possible.
Later that day, LMHS held another event for incoming ninth graders and their parents called "How to Navigate High School" designed for parents/guardians to meet with administrators, counselors, department chairs and other members of the LMHS community, and to learn how to support their students throughout their high school experience. The evening's events also included a barbecue, breakout sessions, a scavenger hunt, ice breaker activities, and more.
