| Safety Rules & Regulations |
The safety of individuals utilizing the Lower Merion School District pool facility is of prime importance and interest to the school district. In order to insure some degree of safety for you and your child while in the confines of the Natatorium, certain rules and regulations have been established for your protection. The cooperation of all parents and students concerned would greatly contribute to this safety program. Remember, these rules and regulations are both for your benefit and ours.
Balcony Area
- All children under six (6) years of age must remain with their parents at all times.
- Loitering by students is not permitted in the balcony.
- Running along the bleacher section is discouraged.
- Do not hang over the balcony railing or walk on the bleacher seats.
- Smoking is not permitted in any area of the pool.
Pool Area
- All swimmers and divers do so at their own risk.
- Free floating swimming supports are not allowed in the water during recreational swim.
- Running, pushing, and "general horseplay" is not permitted at any time.
- Ball playing is not allowed.
- Swimming is not permitted in the diving pool when the diving boards are in use.
- Only one person on the diving boards at a time.
- Diving from the sides of the diving boards is not allowed.
- A distance underwater swimming will not be practiced by any swimmer.
- Diving from the edge of the shallow pool is not allowed.
- No one may enter the water unless there is a qualified staff member present on the deck.
- Cut-offs or gym shorts are not considered swim suits.
- Roller skates/roller blades and skate boards are NOT PERMITTED within the confines of the pool complex and corridor.
- Glass is not permitted in any part of the pool area.
- Children of Kindergarten age or older must use the appropriate
locker room.
- The Pool Staff has complete authority and must be obeyed at all times.
