During the 2008-09 school year, the District invited parents, community members, board members, professional and support staff, administrators and students to actively participate in a new strategic planning process. In an era of challenge, change and promise, a team of 60 stakeholders set out to create a five-year plan that ensures continued success for our school community.
In recent years, strategic planning in Lower Merion School District has helped provide for the physical renewal of our schools, through renovation and modernization of facilities. Our new schools represent an expression of faith in world-class public education and reflect the continued quest for excellence in this school district. Our new plan takes us beyond construction and redistricting and enables us to more keenly focus on our instructional programs and the comprehensive supports that we provide to our students. Lower Merion has long been a pioneer in public education; the most recent planning process served as an opportunity to identify and address our most important needs, to think creatively, and ultimately, to demonstrate our capacity for educational leadership.
The result is a blueprint for the next level of excellence in teaching and learning in the District, with a stronger-than-ever emphasis on data and student achievement. As a result of this planning process, the District's mission, vision, and values have been affirmed and goals have been developed to ensure that we are meeting the current and future needs of all students. The 2009 plan and supporting documents and presentations are linked below. The District completed a mid-point review of the plan in 2011.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
