One to One

The District's one-to-one laptop program, established as one of the first in the nation in 2007, is the cornerstone of classroom technology at the high school level. Following a comprehensive orientation process that emphasizes digital citizenship and the appropriate and effective use of technology, all ninth grade students are issued laptop computers that they will maintain for their four years of high school.

The one-to-one program enables students to easily transition projects and research between home and school. Students enjoy 24/7 access to the software that they use in school. They can more easily exchange ideas and remain connected with classmates and teachers. The result is a learning environment in which problem-solving, critical thinking and leadership skills are developed and enhanced through the responsible use of technology and continuous access to digital resources.
