As assistant superintendent, Dr. Eveslage oversees all aspects of curriculum and instruction, professional learning and academic leadership, including supervision of school principals and academic council.
Prior to his appointment as assistant superintendent, Dr. Eveslage served as principal at Harriton High School for four years. He first joined Lower Merion School District in 2006 and has served in additional administrative roles at both Lower Merion High School and Welsh Valley Middle School. Immediately preceding his time at Harriton, he spent three years as the principal at WVMS. A firm believer in the value of education beyond the classroom, he has served in multiple roles as a coach or sponsor in the co-curricular realm of schools, serving as a high school basketball and cross country coach, as well as sponsoring student government, the school newspaper, and peer mediation programs.
Prior to coming to Lower Merion, Eveslage spent ten years as a special education teacher, two years as an Activities and Athletics Director, and two years as an Assistant Principal at Cheltenham High School and the Y.A.L.E. School in New Jersey, an alternative school for students facing social and emotional challenges. He has been an educator since 1993.
Eveslage holds a doctoral degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University. He also attended Temple University from which he holds a Bachelor of Sociology and Master of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology in Education. He obtained his K-12 Principal’s certification through the education leadership program at Penn State University.
Eveslage enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife Lena have two children, Donovan and Mikayla.
Megan Shafer joined Lower Merion School District in May, 2011. She brings to the position nearly two decades of experience in the areas of education, civil rights, and employment law/compliance. Immediately prior to her appointment with the District, she practiced law at Wisler Pearlstine LLP and Morgan Lewis. There she provided daily counsel and training to clients regarding a wide range of education and employment law matters including traditional labor relations, employment discrimination/harassment, employee benefits, and employment policies. She also managed all aspects of litigation matters pending before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitrators.
Prior to the practice of law, Shafer served as a Senior Equal Opportunity Specialist with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. In that capacity she led complex and comprehensive compliance investigations involving alleged discrimination based on sex, race, and disability. She also routinely provided technical assistance and training regarding civil rights laws and regulations to public schools and universities. In 1999, Shafer received the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Annual Award in recognition for her contributions to multi-regional task force focusing on civil rights issues in urban education.
Shafer grew up in Ohio and graduated from Denison University with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. During her time at Denison, she was a captain of the track and soccer teams. She is now a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame at both Denison and her high school. She then attended Temple University’s School of Law and has since been recognized by Pennsylvania Lawyer’s Magazine as a Rising Star.
Victor Orlando has served as Business Manager for Lower Merion School District since July 2010. Previously, Orlando served as business administrator for the school districts of Springfield (Montgomery County) and Morrisville and as assistant business manager for Spring-Ford Area School District. Prior to working in public school education, Orlando worked as an Internal Auditor for the U. S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service Division, as well as in the public accounting field. Orlando also teaches various accounting, finance and education undergraduate and graduate level courses at local universities.
Orlando holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University, a Master’s of Science Degree in Taxation from Philadelphia University, and is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO), Delaware Valley Association of School Business Officials (DVASBO). Orlando also serves on the PICPA Relations with Schools & Colleges Committee, working with high school and college students to promote the accounting profession.
Brian Cote serves as the Director of K-12 Curriculum/Instruction and Professional Leaning. During the 2015-2016 school year, Brian was the Interim Director of Secondary Education. He joined Lower Merion School District as the Supervisor of Instructional Technology, Data Analysis and Business Education in October, 2012. Previously, Brian served in the Allentown School District as the Executive Director of Accountability and Technology, leading the Offices of Accountability/Assessment, Technology and Human Resources. Brian also served in Allentown as the Director of Educational Technology, and as an Assistant Elementary School Principal. Brian began his educational teaching career in the Souderton Area School District, where he served as a fifth grade teacher for six years, and as a technology integration lead teacher for students in kindergarten through grade five for two years.
Brian earned his undergraduate degree in education at Kutztown University. He holds two master's degrees from Wilkes University in the area of Educational Strategies with a focus on classroom technology, and educational leadership with a K-12 principal certification. Brian coached football, wrestling and track at the middle school and high school levels. Brian is involved in supporting his local sports community in Macungie, PA.
Kimberly Fraser's administrative experience includes leadership and supervision of special education in a K-12 capacity. Prior to moving into administration, she worked as a teacher on assignment supporting staff and IEP teams at the middle school level. She has also held regular education teaching assignments at the elementary and middle levels as well as special education teaching assignments at the middle and high school levels
Fraser earned her M.Ed. in Special Education from McDaniel College and B.A. in Elementary Education from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland. She has completed additional coursework at the graduate level at the University of Pittsburgh and holds certifications in the following areas: Supervisor of Special Education, Special Education N-12, Elementary Education K-6, English 7 -12, Mid-Level Mathematics 7-9, Mid-Level Science 7-9, and Mid-Level Social Studies 7- 9.
George Frazier joined Lower Merion School District in 2009. As Director of Information Systems, he oversees the District's technology initiatives, including helpdesk support, purchasing, networking and infrastructure, and network security. Previously, Frazier served as the Director of Technology for Phoenixville Area School District for thirteen years. During his tenure in Phoenixville, he led the installation of a fiber optic network, voice over IP telephony, and a standards-based technology curriculum.
Prior to joining Phoenixville, Frazier taught middle school at Spring-Ford Area School District and high school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. While teaching at the middle school level, he served as a technology mentor to teachers. Before pursuing his career in education, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.
Frazier serves as an adjunct professor at Arcadia University, teaching a variety of educational technology courses ranging from Introduction to Computers and Technology in Education to Technology Leadership. He is a certified Pennsylvania Department of Education Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction and a certified Instructional Technology Specialist. He holds an M.S. in Computers and Technology in Education from Arcadia University. He is married with three children.
As Director of Operations, Pat Guinnane’s responsibilities include supervising all building maintenance, custodial, and transportation services within the District. He also oversees the building capital improvement program and played a leadership role in the recent modernization of the District's school facilities.
Guinnane holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy, a M.S. degree in management from the University of Southern California and is a registered professional engineer. Prior to joining Lower Merion, Guinnane spent 22 years in the Army with the Corps of Engineers, involved in a wide variety of international and domestic construction projects, facilities maintenance, and operations.
Guinnane is a District resident and parent. He serves as volunteer Scoutmaster for the Narberth Boy Scout Troop 176.
As Director of Communications & Community Relations, Doug Young oversees strategic communications, media relations, community partnerships, alumni relations, publications, special events and development. Prior to joining the District, he worked with the National Basketball Association in New York, where he developed marketing strategies and public relations initiatives for NBA teams. Previously, Young served on the communications staff of former U.S. Senator Alan Cranston in San Francisco.
Young has managed community engagement efforts for the District's extensive capital improvement campaign and has served as District spokesperson in multiple high-profile matters. He has been featured in interviews with local and national media, providing commentary on topics ranging from school safety to student wellness. In his development role, Young guided the launch of the District’s education foundation and has secured funding for key programs. He has also led the development of innovative educational opportunities for students in the District, including the LMSD Innovation Center, TEDxLMSD, the LMSD Sustainability Expo and the annual MLK Afternoon of Service. He has initiated strategic partnerships with the local higher education community, resulting in new programming for students and professional development experiences for staff. He played a leadership role in the development and implementation of the District's strategic plan, All Forward.
A proud graduate of Dartmouth College and Lower Merion High School, Young serves on the board of directors of the Education Foundation of Lower Merion, Bethel Academy, KVBFF and Maestro’s Friends. He was named one of 15 "Men to Watch" by Main Line Today and has been a featured presenter for the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association. Young has also served as a high school assistant basketball coach and helped guide the Lower Merion Aces to two state championships. In August 2012, he summited Mt. Kilimanjaro with LMHS alumni as part of a climb to benefit a boarding school for orphans in Tanzania.
